The quadrangular space (or quadrilateral space [of Velpeau] or foramen humerotricipitale) is one of the three spaces in the axillary space. The other two spaces are: triangular space and triangular interim.
Limits
It is limited by:
- above/unrivaled: the teres minor (substandard edge).
- beneath/substandard: the teres real (prevalent edge)
- medially: the long leader of the triceps brachii (horizontal edge)
- horizontally: the careful neck of the humerus
- anteriorly: the subscapularis
Contents:
It transmits the axillary nerve and back circumflex humeral vessels (corridor and vein).
